History
Gnomes are smaller relatives of the Dwarves; with whom they share a similar cultural history, language (they speak their own dialect of Khazalid called Ghassal) and temperament, being even more choleric and difficult to deal with than the Dwarves. Like them, they live mostly underground or in the mountains.
Gnomes are more agile and dexterous than their taller cousins, which, together with their well-known antipathy, has earned them the nickname of "petty thieves". They have some particularly talented Illusionists in their ranks, since, unlike the Dwarves, some of them have a natural ability for this type of magic. Gnomes are also excellent blacksmiths and craftsmen. They are fascinated (not to say obsessed) by everything mechanical: they love gadgets of all kinds. Few of them live within human society, but they profit greatly from the sale of items produced by themselves.
