Dwarfs Crossbowmen
Dwarf Crossbowmen (N2)
| Special Abilities |
History
When clans are called to combat, some Dwarves equip themselves with crossbows and join the battle as Crossbowmen. These formations are dedicated to mowing down their enemies, a task they perform with great zeal. Crossbowmen decimate enemy flanks, punishing units that try to flank their own forces and engage in ranged duels against enemy troops with projectile weapons.
Dwarves never carry bows because they are not suited to their physical stature and because of the limitations of this type of weapon in narrow tunnels. The sturdy Dwarven crossbow has a longer range than the tiny, poor quality bows used by Goblins and has enough power to devastate lightly armored enemies. With typical Dwarven precision, a unit of Crossbowmen will unleash a hail of bolts, then reload, aim and fire. Protected by heavy armor and their sturdy build, it is rare for an enemy, even one with sharpshooters more skilled than the Dwarves, to overcome a unit of Crossbowmen in long-range shooting. And if the enemy gets close enough to engage the Crossbowmen in close combat, they will find hardened warriors eager to get their axes in motion.
